Convicted Impaired Drivers

The BOT program is a provincially mandated program for convicted impaired drivers. The program requires all participants pay a registration fee of $606.90 in full before they can start the program. Participants must complete all three parts of the Back on Track program which can take up to 11 months to complete and serve their entire suspension period before they are eligible to be reinstated.

While our London office is contracted to provide services to people living in Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford and Kent Counties, any participant can access our service if they are able to travel to London.

The three phases of the BOT program:

Assessment - This 30-60 minute assessment is usually done in person but arrangements but can be made to complete the assessment on the phone if the participant resides more that 60 minutes from London. The assessment will determine whether the participant must complete an eight hour education course or 16 hour treatment course.
Education / Treatment Program - The focus of both of these programs are to develop strategies to reduce impaired driving in the future. These programs require the participant to be able to read and write in English or French. If a participant has difficulty reading and writing they are required to bring a translator with them for both the assessment and education or treatment course.
Follow-up Interview - This interview is conducted on the phone six months after the education or treatment class was completed. The BOT program is not considered complete until this interview is completed.

Motorists who have two warning range (.05 -.08) roadside suspensions within a five year period are required to attend an eight hour education class at a cost of $186.90. If you accumulate three roadside suspensions within five years you are required to attend the two day treatment class at a cost of $186.90

Participants must pay the following fees:

$578 (plus GST) for convicted impaired drivers
$606.90 or $178 (plus GST) for Roadside Suspension drivers
$186.90 (plus GST) to cover the costs of the program.
