At ADSTV the PIER project has moved into its final stage. We are encouraging all community members, agencies and individuals to utilize our existing presentations and information collected to help enhance the education and understanding of how to prevent youth from using illicit substances. All our presentations are available on this site under the Presentations section. If you have questions about the presentations or would like further information on the PIER project please contact:  intake@adstv.on.ca

Safegrad Workshop:

Safegrad --- PIER Youth Leaders engage their peers!

Jade, Sydney, Ashley and Alanah spoke to the crowd of students from across the TVDSB/LDCSB region about how to take information they learned at the Safegrad workshop back to their fellow peers so that they will be interested and engaged in the information as well.

www.safegrad.com is a campaign designed to increase understanding and build the capacity of youth leaders in schools to promote safe partying.

Each year in November, a few students from each school across the Thames Valley and London District Catholic school boards come together at the Thames Valley District School boards main office in London to learn about safe partying and the implications of unsafe parties.

Upon return to their schools these students are expected to take back key messages from the day and promote at key times throughout the year (ie; Prom, Christmas, Summer holidays, etc) throughout their school. The diverse crowd of grade 9 to grade 12's learned from PIER leaders' conversation starters and ways to get their fellow peers engaged in the subject.

Blog Info:

The PIER project is now blogging! Throughout the PIER Project we have heard that youth, caregivers and service providers turn to internet to receive information. Therefore the purpose of this blog is to offer information and insight regarding the topic of illicit substances.

PIER Youth Leaders continue to blog about various topics, such as How Youth Get Information on Drugs, Parenting 101: Teens Perspective, useful websites and much more. Please take time to check out our blog and add it to your favorites as it is updated regularly. Become a follower of our blog and here what our youth are saying!  www.pierproject.tumblr.com
