Clients are eligible to apply to the community of their choice.

4. Will the participant need to sign a lease?

Participants in the ASH program sign a Housing Agreement with the Housing Partner. Participants are not considered Tenants of the unit and housing is contingent upon their participation in the ASH program.

Clients will be expected to pay the housing partner directly.

6. Can someone participate in the program if they are on Methadone?

Yes! Clients are able to attend a local pharmacy or clinic as.

7. Are participants responsible for their own medications?

Yes! Participants will be responsible for working with their doctors in regards to their medication and taking as prescribed.

8. Will participants be allowed to have pets in the unit?

No pets of any kind will be allowed in the units.

9. Will participants be allowed to have extended absences?

Yes participants will be able to have approved overnight stays or absences that support their treatment plans.

10. Will participants be allowed to have guests in their units?

Yes! Participants will be responsible for anyone they let into the building. The units are all single dwelling and no one other than the participant will be allowed to live there.

11. Will participants be expected to be working / in school?

No. Participants are encouraged to engage in their individualized treatment plan which could include work or school as a part of the process.

12. How will the wait list be managed?

The Admission Advisory Committee will review all appropriate applications and will be prioritizing based on a housing priority assessment.

13. Who are the Admission Advisory Committee?

The committee will be comprised of representatives from community agencies, housing partners and ADSTV/ASH staff.

14. What are the age restrictions?

Participants will be signing a legal contract in the form of a housing agreement therefore clients much be 16 years of age or older to participate. Although, participants must also meet all eligibility and admission criteria.

15. Will participants living space be private?
(answer) ..
Yes. Your Case Manager will visit you with notice, and the Housing providers are required by Health and Safety directives to inspect your dwelling periodically, with notice.
